Volumetric Filling Machines

Volumetric filling machines dispense controlled portions by volume or displacement, rather than relying solely on a weighed batch. Auger fillers are one type: a rotating screw feeds product from a hopper, with the screw movement and machine controls regulating the dose. Other volumetric designs use different measuring arrangements, and some auger machines also use weight feedback.

Auger fillers are commonly used to portion powders and suitable fine granules into bags, jars, tubs or other containers. Typical products include flour, ground coffee, spices, milk powder and seasoning mixes. Product flow, bulk density, dustiness and the required dose influence the choice of screw, agitation and controls; a machine should be trialled with the actual product before suitability is confirmed.
